“A trip worth doing if you enjoy countryside scenery, nature and love food and wine.”
It’s been a month since I arrived to Florence and I have to say that after settling down I’ve spent the last days seeking adventure, fun things to do and new ways discover the city. On my first days here I found this agency called Florencetown that has lots of tours and activities inside the city such as cooking classes, wine tastings, bike tours, etc. They first caught my attention because they seemed very professional and their flyers were very aesthetic, which of course I loved and convinced me to give them a try. Among the different activities they offer I saw this horseback riding tour in Tuscany that caught my eye so I immediately singed up for that.
The meeting point was on Piazza della Reppublica at 3:oo pm, that’s where a private van picked us up and took us outside Florence’s center into these Letters to Juliet landscapes. It was a 25 minute ride until we arrived to where the horses were and after a brief explanation ofsecurity measures and 10 minutes of practice we were horseback riding through beautiful vineyards and typical Tuscan views. The landscape was amazing and it was an incredible experience to be surrounded by nothing but nature. We were a small group of 5 people so the attention and explanations were all very personalized.
After an hour or so of horseback riding we got into the van again to visit a fascinating family-run organic farm and winery where we learned about the how olive oil and Chianti wine are made. Following that, we drove through Tuscan hills to reach Renaissance Villa, where we had the most delicious Tuscan dinner with 3 different wine tastings.
I definitely think it is a trip worth doing if you enjoy countryside scenery, nature and love food and wine. Plus, the service Florencetown provides is excellent, especially if you like small groups and specialized attention.
